Maureen Cavanaugh (Guest Host) : Stem cell research has been a divisive issue. On the one hand, it offers tremendous potential to cure diseases which disable and kill millions of people. On the other hand, it has provoked concerns about the ethical treatment of potential human life.

As is so often the case, the controversy that science created may now be solved by science. We get an update on the current state of stem cell research and hear about a breakthrough research collaboration that's about to get underway here in San Diego.
