California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger says he's activated state and regional emergency services in response to yesterday's earthquake in Los Angeles. Schwarzenegger: "Our office of emergency services also has reached out to local agencies today to make sure the levees and bridges and other critical infrastructure are being inspected and that they're declared safe."
The 5.4 magnitude quake hit at 11:42am yesterday morning.
The epicenter was in Chino Hills, 29 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles.
No injuries or major structural damage have been reported.
State director of emergency services Henry Renteria says aftershocks are expected.
