Goldsmith Takes the Helm as New City Attorney
Tom Fudge : This past election had some exciting races for sure. But none of the runs for public office in San Diego generated much of it. Unless, you consider the race for San Diego City Attorney. Not normally a contest that leads to much, if any, fascination. But former City Attorney Mike Aguirre was so accomplished at inspiring and irritating people that his race for re-election was hard to ignore.
Aguirre lost, having alienated nearly all of the groups that have the ability to sway a local election. And he's been replaced by Republican Jan Goldsmith, a former Superior Court Judge and former member of the California Legislature.
