Scripps Health has made Fortune magazine's national list of the top 100 companies to work for . It's the second year in a row the San Diego-based hospital group has received the honor. KPBS Reporter Kenny Goldberg has more.
Fortune says Scripps does a number of things right. The magazine says Scripps keeps its salaries competitive, offers older employees phased retirement, and pays workers bonuses for meeting performance objectives.
Chris Van Gorder is Scripps Health CEO. He says his company also values employee feedback.
Chris Van Gorder : If we're going to improve and grow as an organization, it has to be through good relationships and being responsive to the people that deliver care. And so that's why we take it so seriously.
Van Gorder says his top priority now is to make sure Scripps weathers the economic storm. He says the company needs to be a place workers can count on.
