SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose seven-tenths of a cent today to $4.149, its highest amount since Oct. 29.
The average price has increased 14 consecutive days, rising 42.2 cents over that span, including eight-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 15.4 cents more than one week ago, 48.5 cents higher than one month ago and 29.7 cents greater than one year ago.
The rising prices are the result of low levels of production in Southern California stemming from refinery maintenance, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
