A man who was apparently attempting to make a roadside repair Monday afternoon was crushed to death after the vehicle he was working on fell off a carjack, the Riverside County Coroner's Office is reporting.
Anza resident David Baxter, 55, was pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m., according to the coroner.
Baxter was found on the roadway in the 54000 block of Cave Rock Road in Anza. He was crushed by a truck that slipped off a carjack, the coroner reported.
The time of injury is unknown, according to the coroner.
It's not immediately clear if the truck was his.
