Firefighters have knocked down a small brush fire in a canyon in Tierrasanta, KPBS media partner 10News reports.
The fire, which burned about half an acre, was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday near Snook Street and Collett Way.
It was knocked down just before 7 p.m. and crews will remain on scene to mop up any hot spots.
Firefighters had a hard time accessing the fire and used a helicopter to make water drops.
No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
There is no word on what caused the fire.
