The Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office said a shooter entered the school and shot and killed one student. The suspect is also dead, but there was no detail on how the suspect died.

Images from local television showed students being evacuated from Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Oregon, with their hands above their heads. As parents heard the news, they streamed toward the school.

Live coverage from KOIN-TV showed parents gathering at a parking lot, some of them in tears.
