Authorities released the name Tuesday of a man found fatally shot last weekend in Balboa Park, and whose killer remains at large.
Patrol officers responding to a report of a possibly injured person near the Morley Field Velodrome found 44-year-old Victorino Bacuetes of San Diego unconscious on a lawn adjacent to a baseball field in the area shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday, according to police.
Bacuetes died at the scene from a gunshot wound to his upper body, homicide Lt. Paul Rorrison said.
Officials have identified no suspects in the case.
