Residents who intend to participate in the county's upcoming online property auction must register by the end of Wednesday, according to San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister.
To participate, prospective bidders must apply at sdttc.mytaxsale.com and submit a refundable $1,000 deposit and a non-refundable $35 processing fee. After registering, prospective bidders can research available properties and parcels of land to decide how they want to bid during the auction.
The auction includes 258 timeshares, 20 homes or businesses and 35 parcels of land. Each available property and parcel of land is left over from the county's auction in April, when it sold 286 properties and parcels of land for more than $2.6 million to bidders from all over the country.
"We have 313 great properties for sale — homes, land and timeshares. This is your last chance to find a deal before they are gone," McAllister said. "Register now so you can still research the properties and do your due diligence before bidding."
Properties are made available in the county's auctions once an owner has defaulted on paying property taxes for at least five years. Property owners can save their property from going to auction by paying their overdue property taxes by July 11 at 5 p.m.
The auction is scheduled for June 12-17. All sales are final, according to McAllister.
