Meals On Wheels Continues Delivery Service To Seniors In San Diego Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
Meals on Wheels delivers food daily to more than 3,100 seniors throughout San Diego County and those deliveries won't stop amid the coronavirus pandemic.
While the nonprofit is continuing to deliver meals, the group is concerned about losing older volunteers and is calling on younger people to step up to deliver meals. Seniors are among the most vulnerable to coronavirus and health officials are urging them to self-isolate at home.
Amie Brown, director of development for Meals on Wheels, joined Midday Edition on Tuesday to discuss how the organization is navigating serving the community amid the coronavirus outbreak.
