Recent polls suggest good news for Newsom, though voting continues through next Tuesday.

The special election to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom is now one week away.

With recent polls showing some potentially good news for the governor, the recall election will be getting more national attention over the next week. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are expected to campaign for Newsom this week.

Registered voters were mailed ballots that must be postmarked or taken to a drop-off location by next Tuesday, Sept. 14, to be counted.

"Gov. Newsom has moved this from being a referendum on himself to a referendum on one of these Republicans and where they would take the state," he said.
