Americans, people who worked with the U.S. and other civilians are attempting to leave the war-torn nation following the Taliban’s swift takeover.
Here in San Diego, humanitarian groups are working to resettle an increasing number of refugees from the region. One of those groups is Catholic Charities.
Nadine Toppozada, the director of refugee and immigrant services at Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego, joined Midday Edition on Friday to talk more about how the group is responding.
