Chicano Park Day is one of my favorite annual events in San Diego. Spend your Saturday looking at tricked out low-riders cars, colorfully costumed folk dancers, and consuming lots of yummy food. Every San Diegan should visit Chicano Park and this day of celebration makes it an opportune time.
Where can you find a ruffled silk clutch, a squid hat, a Trumer Pils beer, and the MIHO Gastrotruck all in one place? The Mingei International Museum in Balboa Park. The Mingei is hosting "Craft on Tap" tonight, which showcases local Etsy artists and designers alongside some gourmet treats.

Oh, vain Faust! He sells his soul to the crafty Méphistophélès in trade for youth and pleasure. Set in the Gothic world of 16th century, San Diego Opera's production of Charles-François Gounod's "Faust" showcases the talents of the gorgeous young couple Stephen Costello and Ailyn Pérez.
