About 30 students from Lincoln High School spent their first day of summer vacation carrying signs and chanting for justice over the deaths of two people along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Last month, 42-year-old Anastasio Hernandez died after an alleged scuffle with U.S. Border Patrol agents. A 15-year-old Mexican boy was also allegedly shot and killed by a border patrol agent near El Paso, Texas.

Lincoln High student Daniel Isidro said he’s concerned over the lack of public outcry. "Right now I feel anger, pitty, sadness, that the government has rolled their eyes like it never happened," said Isidro. "It is time for justice to be imposed."

Lincoln High School instructor Kiki Ochoa said he’s proud that his students have united to get their message out.

“That we’re human beings, that we deserve to walk anywhere regardless of who’s around and it’s just to show our community that we’re here on the step of the border patrol headquarters to show that there’s no need to be afraid,” said Ochoa.

Both incidents are under investigation.
