Man Arrested At San Ysidro Border Crossing For Throwing Molotov Cocktail

A 39-year-old man has been arrested after authorities say he tossed a lit Molotov cocktail at Customs and Border Protection officers at the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego.

Agency spokeswoman Angelica De Cima says the incident occurred Wednesday after the man, a U.S. citizen, crossed the border and approached the vehicle lanes at the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

Authorities say the incendiary device landed about a yard south of an inspection booth near four customs officers and motorists.

Despite a large fireball, no one was injured and no property was damaged.

The man, whose name hadn't been released, was booked in a federal correctional center.
