San Diego State University is hosting a two-day event on sustainability this weekend.

The event is part of an ongoing series sponsored by UnitedGREEN, a San Diego organization devoted to issues such as water, energy, food and jobs.

Environmentalist law professor Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be delivering the keynote address Saturday evening.

One of the primary goals for this event is to foster connections between like-minded individuals, says Patrick Hurley, Vice President of UnitedGREEN.

"We are bringing together. . . people that care about the issues—so that we can build partnerships and consortiums that will create businesses and create jobs while achieving our goal of total sustainability," says Hurley.

UnitedGREEN says that San Diego has the potential to become a completely self-sustaining environment, and a model of sustainable living for the rest of the world.

Sustainable living "isn't something we have to wait for," says Hurley, "We can build partnerships tomorrow."

The event is open to the public. Tickets for this event and other UnitedGREEN events can be purchased on the organization website, unitedgreen.org.
