LOS ANGELES (AP) — Forecasters are warning of an onslaught of gusty, dry conditions that will raise fire danger in swaths of Southern California.
The National Weather Service has predicted a siege of northeast winds and very low humidity levels beginning before dawn Tuesday.
Red flag warnings have been issued for portions of Los Angeles and Orange counties until 6 p.m.
Temperatures in the upper 70s are expected, with relative humidity in the single digits.
Wind speeds up to 30 mph will be common in some areas, with peak winds reaching 50 mph.
City News Service reports the Los Angeles Fire Department plans to position extra resources at stations serving high hazard brush areas.
