Local window washers from A-Plus Window Cleaning dressed up as superheroes to surprise patients at Rady's Children's Hospital for Halloween.
Superman, Spiderman, Mr. Incredible and others cleaned the windows of the Acute Care Pavilion for several hours as patients and their families took pictures.
Colby Dwyer, A-Plus Window Cleaning co-owner, said this is the third year they have done this.
“We love cleaning windows, but there’s no better day to put a smile on kids’ faces than Halloween," Dwyer said. "So we’re out here dressing up."
Kaylee Mikulsky has been battling Leukemia for two years now. Her mom Kelly Mikulsky said she is a fighter, just like who she is dressed up as, Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“At first I said, ‘Oh, we’re going to clinic on Halloween,’ Kelly said, ‘Oh but I want to go trick-or-treating!,’ and I said, ‘But everyone’s going to be dressed up, it’s going to be really fun,’ and sure enough, she’s had a blast.”
Kaylee said her seven-year-old brother Drew is going to be jealous of how cool her Halloween was.
“And I met superheroes!" Kaylee said. "That’s what I’m going to tell him. And he’s probably going to say, if I told him that, he’s probably going to say, ‘Ah, I wish I could meet superheroes.’”
A-Plus Window Cleaning regularly cleans Rady’s windows, but today they do it for free — and take some extra breaks.
