Violence in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, is forcing tens of thousands of people to flee and creating a growing humanitarian crisis.
News reports from the conflict-ridden capital say that at least 70 people have died in a week of fighting between Ethiopian-backed government forces and Islamist-led militants. The conflict intensified after insurgents killed Ethiopian soldiers and dragged their bodies through the streets.
Ethiopian and Somali soldiers are now apparently hitting back.
