KPBS' 'Historic Places' Explores First People Of The Kumeyaay Nation
The 10th season of the KPBS’ series, "Historic Places with Elsa Sevilla," just wrapped up.
This season the series corrected the historical record on the First People of the Kumeyaay Nation and their experience with Junipero Serra who established California's missions. A culture very much alive was revealed as members of the Kumeyaay Nation talked about the importance of learning history from their perspective.
"They want to tell their history from their perspective. We find that when we are telling history everyone has a different point of view. It depends on what that person experienced and that's how they will view history," Sevilla said.
Sevilla joined Midday Edition to share more about her experience making the show. To see complete episodes of "Historic Places" click here.
