Oceanside's Museum of Art is showing visitors how runway fashion meets fingernail art.
Creative Nail Design was created in Oceanside 40 years ago. Jan Arnold's father, who was a dentist and chemist back in 1979, created a fingernail polymer inside the family's garage. The polymer would be used to create extravagant nail art and the product line called CND.
To celebrate 40 years of nail art innovation, CND and the Oceanside Museum of Art teamed up to open"Tiny Canvases." The exhibit is displayed in four rooms and explores the diversity of nail artists, how the artistry is taking over fashion runways, the long history of nail adornment and innovation.
"I hear many people saying nail art just became popular in the last five years when, in fact, it has very rich history. I think making nail art tangible to every woman really depends on innovation which takes us to the CND history," said Jan Arnold, co-founder of Creative Nail Design.
"Tiny Canvases" will run until Feb. 9 at the Oceanside Museum of Art.
