I'd really love to get Home Post readers' opinions on this one. Two entirely different cable networks will debut reality programs that showcase reunions - and surprise reunions at that - of deployed troops and their loved ones. The first show to debut, according to Entertainment Weekly, is called "Coming Home" (not to be confused with the Jane Fonda movie) and premieres Monday, March 6th at 10 p.m. on Lifetime. Matt Rogers (never heard of him) who apparently was a finalist on American Idol during its third season, picks up hosting duties on "Coming Home."
Not to be outdone, TLC is coming up with its own, as yet unnamed, servicemember reunion show. But get this - it's being hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus! How's that for some achy-breaky star power? No word if his mullet will appear on the show.
Will you watch? If you can't wait until March 6th, here's some video of servicemember reunions. Entertainment Weekly reports this montage will make you "cry your eyes out." Actually, you pretty much need to be made of stone to cry when you watch it. Go ahead. I dare you:
