Two soldiers who heroically lost their lives in the Korean War will become the latest recipients of the United States' highest military honor - the Medal of Honor. The Department of Defense reports President Obama will award the medals to the families of Anthony Kaho'ohanohano and Henry Svehla during a special ceremony at the White House May 2.
According to Bloomberg news:
Kaho'ohanohano, born and raised in Maui, was just 21-years-old when he died. Svehla was a native of Newark, New Jersey and lost his life at the age of 20. According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, more than 34,000 American troops were killed in the Korean War.
