Nicholas Hamilton is missing. The 31-year-old Petty Officer 2nd Class suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after serving in the Navy for ten years, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Amanda Hamilton tells the U-T she last spoke with her husband on Tuesday, May 3 by pay phone.
Hamilton was among the USS Ronald Reagan crew members who helped provide humanitarian relief to the people of Japan devastated by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. He returned to San Diego in late March after suffering PTSD symptoms on board.
