After a firestorm of criticism, News Corp. says it has canceled its plans to publish the O.J. Simpson book If I Did It. The book's release was to coincide with a two-part television special featuring an interview with Judith Regan.
Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp., which owns Fox, says it was an "ill-considered project."
Some Fox affiliates said they would not show the two-part TV special that was supposed to air next week, in advance of the Nov. 30 publication of the book by ReganBooks -- a publishing imprint owned, via HarperCollins, by News Corp.
