Memorial to Women's War Effort Marks 10 Years

The Women's Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington celebrates its 10th anniversary today. Host Jacki Lyden shares her thoughts about the legacy of the women who fought America's wars. About a thousand attendees honored women's contributions to American engagements.

During World War II, 400,000 women served in various support roles — about 150,000 in the Women's Auxiliary Corps, or WACS, alone.
