San Diego's politicos gathered in downtown San Diego Tuesday night to watch and celebrate as the results rolled in.
Democrats gathered at the Westin hotel, while Republicans got together at the U.S. Grant. Candidates from both parties also stopped by Golden Hall, where KPBS broadcasted two election specials.
The big local races of the night were for the District 3 seat on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, the San Diego mayor election, the San Diego City Council District 1 race and the race to replace San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith.
With the fields limited, all but the mayor's race look to be going to a runoff in November. San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer received 58 percent of the vote and easily won re-election against two challengers.
