FORMER SAN DIEGO MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH HELPING A SOMALI TERRORIST GROUP WITH TIES TO AL-QAEDA. JOINING ME NOW TO TELL US MORE IS AMETHA.
HE IS A 28-YEAR-OLD MAN THAT GREW UP IN SAN DIEGO. FEDERAL PROSECUTORS SAY HE PROVIDED RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL, INCLUDING HIMSELF, TO THE SAMUELEIAN TERRORIST GROUP KNOWN AS HE WILL SHA BOD. HE IS THE ONLY SAN DIEGO MAN WHOSE INDICTMENT WAS UNSEALED YESTERDAY. HE IS ONE OF 14 PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN CHARGED WITH HELPING IN MINNESOTA AND ALABAMA.
WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THIS GROUP?
WELL, THEY ARE A VIOLENT ISLAMIST TERRORIST GROUP THAT WANTS TO TOPPLE THE SOMALIAN GOVERNMENT. THEY ARE KNOWN FOR HEAVILY RECRUITING WITHIN THE SOMALIAN COMMUNITY. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH SAN DIEGO. THEY CLAIMED RESPONSIBILITY FOR TWIN BOMBING LAST MONTH IN UGANDA RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING DOZENS OF PEOPLE, INCLUDING A SAN DIEGO MAN, WHO WORKED FOR A CHILDREN'S CHARITY.
