A brush fire alongside Interstate 5 near Genesee Avenue in the
Torrey Pines area has forced the closure of the freeway between I-805 and SR-
52, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The blaze is sending thick
smoke across the traffic lanes as crews douse the flames, the CHP reports.
Traffic is being detoured around the area.
