Four separate brush fires burned a total of about 10 acres near Interstate 8 today, authorities said.
The fires were reported just after 2:30 p.m. on the south side of Interstate 8 between Dunbar Lane and Alpine Boulevard, according to Cal Fire spokeswoman Roxanne Provaznik.
About 75 firefighters worked to contain the fires, with help from two airtankers, two helicopters and a bulldozer, Provaznik said.
Firefighters had the spread of the fires stopped about 3:30 p.m., Provaznik said. How the fires started was not immediately known.
