A reward of up to $1,000 was offered Wednesday for information leading to the arrest of whoever shot and killed a 44-year-old San Diego man in Balboa Park last weekend.
Victorino Hector Bacuetes was shot near the Morley Field Velodrome sometime between Saturday night and when patrol officers found him mortally wounded adjacent to a baseball field in the area shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police and Crime Stoppers. He died at the scene from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Authorities have identified no suspects in the case. Homicide investigators are now seeking information on the victim's background and associates.
