Nonstop flights from San Diego to the tourist and fishing town of San Felipe in Mexico are scheduled to begin Monday.
SeaPort Airlines will fly the route four times a week with a nine- passenger Cessna Caravan. The airline and Lindbergh Field plan festivities at the Commuter Terminal to celebrate the launch of the service.
"A San Felipe route has been in extremely high demand," Rob McKinney, president of the airline, said last month when the flight was first announced. "We're so pleased to be the only airline to deliver this exciting new offering, and to further provide the best in commuter air service to our guests."
The flight is scheduled to depart Lindbergh Field at 9:15 a.m. and arrive in San Felipe, which is on the Gulf of California 130 miles south of Mexicali, around 10:35 a.m. The return flight will San Felipe at 11:30 a.m. and arrive in San Diego at 12:50 p.m.
The flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, according to the airline. Ticket information is available online at www.SeaPortAirlines.com or by calling (888) 573-2767.
