Pumpkin Plunge - Kids with pumpkins! Bring a swimsuit and join the Halloween fun at Alga Norte Aquatic Center that transforms into spooky fun with pool activities and games with prizes, and floating obstacles. The Splash Pad will also be open for the little ones. Dry activities include a bounce house, lawn games and the Floating Pumpkin Patch where every child will get to lasso and keep a pumpkin. Tickets are $15 per person. Kids ages 3 and under are free but still need to be registered. Pick up your wristbands in advance at Alga Norte Aquatic Center during the week before the event, to avoid lines. Food will be available for purchase. For safety reasons, only pool noodles and US Coastguard approved floatation devices are allowed in the pool. Food and beverages are available for purchase at the event. Online presale ends at 5 p.m. on the Friday before the event. You will be able to purchase wristbands at the event, if the event is not sold out. Save time and avoid lines by picking up event wristbands in advance. Wristbands will be available for pick up starting the week before the event and are only available at Alga Norte Aquatics Center during regular business hours. All sales are final; no refunds. Wristbands that are picked up in advance that are lost or not brought to the event will not be replaced. Event may modify or cancel due to inclement weather.

The Italian school of San Diego is opening a second in-person location in Encinitas for the 2026-2027 academic year. Children meet Mondays from 4 to 6 p.m. at San Dieguito United Methodist Church, from September 14, 2026 through May 24, 2027, 29 classes across the year. Two small classes run at the same time in adjacent classrooms, each with its own native Italian teacher, so siblings of different ages can attend together. Transitional kindergarten through 2nd grade learn through songs, movement, picture books, and games. Third through 5th grade work on conversation while beginning to read and write in Italian, alongside Italian geography, food, and holidays. Classes are kept small, 5 to 10 students. No previous knowledge of Italian is required in either group. Children who already hear Italian at home are welcome too. Ample free parking on site. The City of Chula Vista’s San Diego FC Soccer Celebrations, presented by Adriana’s Insurance, are wrapping up with one final community watch party on Sunday, July 19, giving the community one last opportunity this summer to cheer on the championship match together.
