Warmer weather is expected for most of the week in the coastal areas and valleys of San Diego County, with some cooling anticipated next weekend following Monday's rain.

"Wind is unlike many other hazards because you really can't see it," says AAA's Bill Van Tassel. -
Monday's temperatures will mostly be in the mid- to upper 60s on the coast and inland areas, the mid- to upper 50s in the mountains and the upper 70s in the desert areas. -
The water in California’s mountain snowpack is just shy of average as spring begins, but a winter storm set to hit the Sierra Nevada in the coming days will offer a boost. -
High winds and a slight chance of showers are in the forecast Monday in the mountain and desert areas of San Diego County. -
The most fatalities were in Missouri. Forecasters warned that tornadoes, hail and violent winds continue to threaten states in the Deep South, from Louisiana to Georgia. -
The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality Friday closed the Coronado shoreline as a result of runoff from the Tijuana River reaching the city's beaches. -
More snow and rain is in the forecast Friday for parts of San Diego County and a winter weather advisory is in effect for the mountain areas. But, the weekend is expected to be dry. -
A storm system crossing the U.S. threatens to unleash tornadoes Friday in the Mississippi Valley, blizzards in the northern Plains and dry conditions in Texas and Oklahoma that pose a wildfire risk. -
Schools in the Spencer Valley School District closed at noon Thursday due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. -
A late-winter storm brought widespread showers to the San Diego area, dropping modest amounts of moisture, and another round of rain is on the way Wednesday.
