The first meeting to look at the master plan for Chula Vista’s bayfront gets underway tonight. The Port of San Diego will provide an overview of the plan’s draft environmental impact statement. The public can weigh in on the report until November 27. Port spokeswoman Marguerite Elicone says the draft plan deals with potential environmental effects from the project.

Elicone: Some of these effects could be traffic and circulation, urban design, visual quality, air quality, noise, land and water, biological resources.”

The Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan will guide the development of the bayfront over the next 25-years. Elicone says if the plan meets all regulatory approvals construction could start in early 2008. The project includes a development proposed by Gaylord Entertainment which includes a hotel and convention center complex.
