San Diego State Revises Expansion Plans

For years, SDSU has been struggling to expand into a nearby neighborhood. There was powerful citizen resistance. This month, university officials announced a revised master plan. Tonight, we'll find o

San Diego State University the second largest of the 23 California State University campuses. Its student population is the size of a small city and it’s bursting at the seams.

Over the next 20 years the SDSU is projecting continued growth as a teaching, research, and community service facility. To prepare for that growth, university officials came up with an expansion plan that included a residential development in the Del Cerro area. There has been powerful citizen resistance to that plan and the university has backed off. This month, university officials announced a revised master plan. Tonight, we'll find out what's in the new plan and how it will affect the surrounding community.
