SDSU Scientist Discusses Global Warming

Originally aired March 21, 2007

Tom Fudge:
Today, former Vice President Al Gore returns to the U.S. Capital to testify before Congress on the subject of global warming. Gore is no scientist, but he has made a big impact on the climate change debate with his film, An Inconvenient Truth .

Walter Oechell, meanwhile, is a scientist and he's an expert on climate change. And he'll be speaking this afternoon at 3 p.m. at San Diego State. The rather ominous title of his lecture is Global Change: Is the World Beyond Repair? Dr. Oechel is a distinguished professor of biology at SDSU. His research focuses on how climate change is affecting the arctic environment.
