Tom Fudge: If you know a little bit about film music and musical theater, you know who Marvin Hamlisch is. He did the music for the movie The Sting . He composed the music for the Broadway hit A Chorus Line . Over his career in music he's won three Oscars, four Grammys, a Tony and a Pulitzer Prize.

Marvin Hamlisch will conduct the San Diego symphony this Friday and Saturday night (July 27 th and 28 th ) as part of the Symphony's Summer Pops series. Performances take place at the Embarcadero.
