The Automobile Club of Southern California says gasoline prices have declined for the second week in a row.

In San Diego the price is $4.57 for a gallon of regular, nearly 3 cents lower than last week's price. But that's a $1.45 more than last year.

The Auto Club's Marie Montgomery says it's possible California gas prices could be heading into a downward trend.

Montgomery: We certainly hope that prices are going to be peaking and now decreasing and that this is actually a downhill slide as opposed to just sort of a hovering before they increase again.

Montgomery says California prices are the second highest in the country, trailing only Alaska.

She also says San Diego roads and freeways will be busy this weekend because the area is the number one holiday destination for Southern California travelers.
