The Top Ten Television Panels At Comic-Con

I'm not a comic book guy anymore. I used to be. Now I'm on the floor for swag, toys, t-shirts, and people watching. I go to the panels for TV shows and movies.  I've scoured the panel schedule and this is what I've come up with for the television panels that should not be missed this year:

1.     Lost .  Too obvious? Too bad. Lost is probably the best show on television. The modern day Gilligan's Island , except with a plane crash. Bring on season 5.  Panel: Sat 12pm, Hall H

2.    Fringe J.J. Abrams showed the pilot of Lost at Comic-Con four years ago and it was awesome. I'm not going to miss the chance to see his newest TV show.  This one starts with a plane landing in Boston... but everyone on board has died some sort of gruesome death. It sounds like the introductory mystery alerting our cast that the world is weirder than we thought... do I smell a Lost crossover? (Maybe he'll have a Star Tre k clip too.) Pilot Screening: Wed 6pm and 7:30pm, Ballroom 20 Panel: Sat 4:45, Ballroom 20

That's a fine list. But for me, two more shows deserve at least Honorable Mention - The Middleman and Pushing Daisies. Middleman is just quirky and fun. This chemistry between cast members is a joy to behold, especially from a show only a few episodes old. The scripts are dripping with Fan Boy tidbits and The Funny comes at you fast. Watch this show! Middleman panel is Thursday @ 2 p.m. in Room 5AB Daisies is another gem from Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me, Heroes, and gone-too-soon Wonderfalls). More great writing and great chemistry. And great pies. Pushing Daisies screening and Q & A is Saturday @ 3:15 in Room 6A Two shows with very high Sci Fi quotients that are both charming, sharp, and funny.

Middleman is on my short (but longer than 10) list. I missed Pushing Daisies first season. I have a bad habit of totally ignoring series that I don't watch from day 1... at least until I get my hands on DVDs. Also on my list: Dexter, Thu 5:4pm5, Rm6CDEF TV Funhouse, Thu 7pm, Rm6CDEF Primeval (Sched conflict with Showrunners), Fri 1:15pm, Rm6A Showrunners, Fri 1:45pm, Rm6CDEF Family Guy, Fri 3:30pm, Rm20 Pixar, Sat 2:30pm, Hall H Sony Movies, Sat 5:30pm, Hall H
