Republicans Regroup to Salvage Convention

The national Republican convention got underway this week in St. Paul, Minnesota but the mood has been dampened by Hurricane Gustav. We'll talk with KPBS Political Correspondent Gloria Penner, who is

Tom Fudge : Yesterday, President George W. Bush made an appearance at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. But his appearance was limited to a video screen. Bush was the first President since Lyndon B. Johnson, in 1968, to not attend his party's convention to nominate a successor.

Also, Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut spoke last night at the Republican convention. But wait a minute... wasn't he the guy who ran for Vice President with Democrat Al Gore in the year 2,000? Nah... that couldn't have been him.
