County Supervisors Grapple with Economic Downturn

Maureen Cavanaugh : The San Diego County Board of Supervisors controls a budget of more than 5-billion dollars and serves the county's 3-million residents. Considering how broad and varied the issues are that come before the Supervisors, we don't always hear as much as we should from these elected officials.

So, These Days is starting a series of interviews with all five members of the County Board of Supervisors. And, we're starting with District 1.  Supervisor Greg Cox has been representing District 1, which covers the southern part of the county ,since 1995. For the past year, he's been chairman of the Board.  In fact, this is his last day as chairman.
