San Diego Hotels Face Bad Economy

Audio

The current financial crisis has left many San Diego hotel rooms vacant.

David Peckinpaugh is with the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.  He says the number of people filling-up hotel rooms across the county has been going down for several months.

Peckinpaugh: "We've seen, since September, double-digit decreases in occupancy.  And so it's been very concerning, very difficult times.  And we are forecasting the next six months to continue to be pretty difficult."

Peckinpaugh says despite the hotel occupancy decline, the good news is attraction attendance in San Diego has remained steady year-over-year.
