Kenneth Branagh Video Interview

The "Wallander" star on revisiting the complex character of Kurt Wallander.

Swedish cop Kurt Wallander is back on the beat in the award-winning role created by Kenneth Branagh ("Henry V," "Hamlet," "Shackleton") and based on the international bestsellers by Henning Mankell. At odds with his family, friends, and fellow police, Wallander is in his element with serial killers and psychopaths, tracking them across the stark farm country of southern Sweden, which he does brilliantly in three new 90-minute cases: "Faceless Killers" (October 3), "The Man Who Smiles" (October 10), and "The Fifth Woman" (October 17).

In this episode, Wallander investigates the brutal slaying of an elderly couple at an isolated farmhouse. The fallout from the case leads the detective to doubt everything, including his abilities as a police officer. Alan Cumming hosts.
