For a detective who can't stand sand, even paradise can be hell. A warm, lighthearted detective series which takes place against a stunning Caribbean island backdrop. Sent to the tiny island of Saint-Marie to solve a mysterious murder, quintessentially British cop Richard Poole is a total fish out of water.
Awaiting Richard is a ramshackle station and a very different type of policing. His new partner, DS Camille Bordey is instinctive, feisty and brilliant, and the rest of the team certainly have their own unique way of doing things.
Though Richard would never admit it, they make the perfect team, and with a new mind-boggling mystery to solve every episode, DEATH IN PARADISE will intrigue and tantalize – but will Richard ever come to see the beauty of his surroundings? Perhaps not, but he might one day loosen his tie…
Starring Ben Miller ("Primeval," "The Armstrong and Miller Show," "Johnny English"), Sara Martins ("Little White Lies," "Pigalle, la nuit"), Danny John-Jules ("Red Dwarf," "M.I.High"), Gary Carr ("Silent Witness"), Élisabeth Bourgine ("Mon Meilleur Ami") and Don Warrington ("Waking the Dead").
Episode One airs Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 9 p.m. - When a British Cop is found murdered in a locked room on the tiny paradise island of Saint-Marie, Detective Inspector Richard Poole is sent to investigate. He’s the perfect man to solve the case - if only he didn't just hate sun, sea and sand.
Episode Two airs Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 9 p.m. - As DI Richard Poole desperately searches for a decent cup of tea, a bride is murdered on her wedding day. It is a tragedy DS Camille Bordey can’t help but notice, whilst Richard is more interested in housekeeping signs. But who would kill a bride on her wedding day? Could it really be one of her family?
Episode Three airs Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 9 p.m. - When a woman not only predicts her own murder but also gives a description of the murderer it all feels too easy for DI Richard Poole. Can a case from the past help solve the present day murder? And more importantly can Richard convince the team that it has nothing to do with voodoo spirits?
Episode Four airs Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 9 p.m. - A confession of murder proves problematic for DI Richard Poole and the team when a wife admits to killing her husband but the body is nowhere to be found. Can Richard solve the mystery? And could his feelings be clouding his judgment?
Episode Five airs Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 9 p.m. - A murder investigation becomes more than personal for Richard when the victim is murdered while handcuffed to him! His job on the line, he needs all his British rigor and stoutest brogues to get to the heart of the Paradise Beach mystery...
Episode Six airs Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 9 p.m. - With Richard struck down by a tropical disease and Camille in Paris its left to Dwayne and Fidel to solve the apparently impossible murder of a local diver. As if their job isn’t tough enough, they also have to contend with holidaying British cop DS Angela Young – and they thought Richard was annoying...
Episode Seven airs Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 9 p.m. - Carnival comes to Saint-Marie. Richard sees the dark side of show business when a comeback concert ends in the most public of murders. If sun, sea and sand weren’t bad enough, he now has to conquer his fear of snakes to find the elusive killer...
Episode Eight airs Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 9 p.m. - Dwayne ends up embroiled in a murder investigation when a piece of incriminating evidence is found at the scene of the crime. Can Richard solve the case and meet a deadline that means he’ll finally get what he wants – a return home?

Sara Martins's character is too irritating! She is always right and loves flaunting it. She is brusque and pushy. She lords it over her colleagues all the time. Change her a bit, with some modesty or humility for crying out loud.
