Special Feature Our Wild San Diego
In his series "Our Wild San Diego," KPBS anchor Dwane Brown takes you to places in San Diego County to discover the animals and plants that live here. He explores everything from sea creatures to birds to reptiles and shows the habitats where they live. Along the way, you meet the people working to protect our local environment.
Evening Edition anchor Dwane Brown visited the Living Coast Discovery Center in Chula Vista on Friday. It's part of a feature he calls "Our Wild San Diego."
The center offers visitors an intimate nature experience, with more than 350 animal and plant species. Brown spoke with Sherry Lankston, guest experience manager at the center.
Brown learned about the importance of the "stingray shuffle," and met some aquatic animals that can be found right off San Diego's coast, including moon jellies.
