The people putting together San Diego County's first East-West trail marked a milestone today, with the unveiling of the first trail marker in Del Mar. KPBS Reporter Erik Anderson has details.

Supporters of the trans county trail project, unveiled the logo that'll be found on trail markers. The colorful yellow logo traces the trail as it winds from the ocean to the Anza Borrego State Park.

That design will show up on each trail marker. Chairman of the trans county trail project - Dan Cannon - says the first of many trail markers with the new logo was planted at Torrey Pines State Beach Park.

Cannon: "You're going to see a logo every time there's a turn in the road. Anytime there could be a Y in which you could get off the road. Minimally we'll see a logo every mile."

About 80 of the 114 miles of the trail are complete. Cannon says it could take another ten years before the entire project is finished.
