The Governor of Baja California and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger meet in Los Angeles today. Immigration reform tops the Baja California Governor's agenda. But as KPBS Reporter Amy Isackson explains it is unclear whether Schwarzenegger agrees.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's spokeswoman Julie Soderland says the purpose of the meeting is to discuss bi-national education.
The two governors will be launching a web-to-web connection between Matieres de Tacobaya school in Tijuana and a school in the San Fernando Valley. This will allow students to practice language skills, also allow the students to have a cultural exchange.
Governor Eugenio Elorduy says he also plans to discuss immigration with Schwarzenegger. He's confident the two can build on the conversation they began when they met a few months ago. And he plans to invite Schwarzengger to go with him to Washington to discuss immigration reform with Congress.
Schwarzenegger maintains immigration is a federal issue. Spokeswoman Soderland won't speculate if Schwarzengger will accept the invitation or what the agenda would be. Amy Isackson, KPBS news.
