The man who bribed San Diego republican Congressman randy Duke Cunningham pleaded guilty to conspiracy, bribery and election fraud charges in a Washington courtroom today. Laura Strickler has more from our Capitol Hill Bureau.

The former CEO of MZM, Inc. Mitchell wade, pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman Cunningham. He faces up to 20 years in prison for continually plying Cunningham with lavish gifts and cash in exchange for lucrative Pentagon contracts. Phil Halpern is the assistant U.S. Attorney for San Diego.

Wade also pleaded guilty to giving illegal campaign contributions to two other members of congress. The Cunningham scandal has inspired countless lobbying reform proposals that Congress will begin to debate in the next few weeks. From Capitol Hill, Laura Strickler KPBS News.
